There’s certainly no shortage of ghoulish goings-on around town this Halloween.
Cinema
The New Dot Cinema will be bringing us an early Halloween ‘treat’ with one of the most chilling and iconic horror movies of all time: ‘Psycho’! This Alfred Hitchcock classic will be showing at the Town Hall on the evening of Friday 17th October.
Variety
If traditional variety shows are more your thing, The Collen Players have a treat for you on Halloween night! They’ve lined up a hauntingly good host of acts for their ‘Hammerbeams and Harmonies’ show! The show will feature the Players’ usual mix of music hall and variety acts and will raise funds for the restoration of St Collen’s 16th century medieval hammer-beam roof.
It’s just £15 a ticket and includes supper! There will be drinks of course too. So, head on down there and help raise the roof this Halloween!
Live Music
Halloween is Friday night so of course there will be live music at Gales!
Rose and Jacob will be back to entertain with a spooky set of tunes from the 60s right through to the current day! They will be joined by Sasha Duchnowska, guitarist and singer. Entry is free so come along and enjoy the music with friends and a glass of your favourite tipple.
Spooky Space-themed Rave
Mile End Mill provides an eerily apt backdrop for ‘Interstellar’ on Sat 1st November. The old 18th century textile mill (home to TNR Outdoors) will host a number of DJs across three rooms and two floors, playing a mix of Drum and Bass, Jungle, Reggae and UK Garage music. The party goes on till 3am and party goers are welcome to park camper vans over night! Over 18s only.
So take your pick this Halloween. Whether you’re “rolling out the barrel” with the Collen Players, hiding behind your hands at the New Dot Cinema, raving through the night at the Mill, or enjoying the live music at the wine bar, you’re sure to have a Spooktacular Halloween!
